The British Fashion Awards 2009, sponsored by Swarovski, took place at The Royal Courts of Justice in London.  It was the spectacular finale to the British Fashion Council’s 25th anniversary celebrations.  The BFA’s recognized some of the most influential people in fashion and was a celebration of the reputation and development of British fashion over the last 25 years.

Honorees this year included:

  • John Galiano for Outstanding Achievement in Fashion Design
  • Georgia Jagger, the daughter of Mick Jagger and Jerry Hall, for Model of the Year
  • Burberry took the prize for Designer of the Year
  • The Isabella Blow Award for Fashion Creator went to Vogue’s Grace Coddington
  • Vivienne Westwood was inducted into the Hall of Fashion
