Louis Vuitton Reopens In London Sunday, May 30 2010

Louis Vuitton reopened its newly renovated London store last week to much fanfare.  There were plenty of celebrities in attendance, but what thrilled me most was seeing disco diva Donna Summers and legendary french actress Catherine Deneuve.  These ladies looked fabulous!

Lenox Square Mall Tuesday, May 25 2010

I made time to visit Lenox Square Mall while in Atlanta this past weekend.  It’s never a disappointing visit. Although Lenox Square was established in 1959 you shouldn’t expect to see an outdated relic of shopping days gone by.

Anchored by Neiman Marcus, Bloomingdale’s and Macy’s the mall also features over 200 specialty stores – shops like Club Monaco, BCBG, Betsey Johnson, Burberry, Brooks Brothers, Calvin Klein, Coach, Cartier,  Louis Vuitton,  Kiehl’s Since 1851, Ralph Lauren, Salvatore Ferragamo, and Zara.

Saturdays are a bit too crowded for my tastes, but they’re ideal if you also want to do some great people watching.  Atlanta is such an eclectic fashion melting pot that it’s always fun to see what the natives are wearing.

Valentino Wows Me Sunday, Mar 14 2010

I really, really liked the Valentino collection shown during Fashion Week in Paris.  It felt feminine and sassy, yet elegant and sophisticated. Looking forward to seeing some of the looks on the red carpet.

Alexander McQueen’s Final Collection Friday, Mar 12 2010

The last collection designed by the late Alexander McQueen was shown in Paris this week.  The show was a quiet and graceful in its elegance.  McQueen had obviously taken his inspiration from medieval times.  The show was spearheaded by McQueen’s trusted team of artisans including Sarah Burton, considered to be the iconic designer’s right hand. The 16 outfits shown had been 80 percent finished at the time of his death.

How it saddened me to write the first line of this story.  McQueen’s edgy, avantgarde style will be missed and his Doc Marten’s won’t be easily filled.

Chanel Does Fur Fearlessly Thursday, Mar 11 2010

Karl Lagerfeld

Chanel’s Paris show this week was saturated with fur.  Models glided through the antartic staging in fur pants, skirts, jackets and boots.

Burberry Thrilled In London Saturday, Feb 27 2010

As usual Burberry had the show to see during London Fashion Week.  I loved the jackets which were a mix of military inspired styles in great colors. Over the knee boots are not going anywhere and who would want them to when they make your legs look five miles long?
