HSH Prince Albert and Charlene Wittstock

It has been announced the HSH Prince Albert of Monaco, 52, is engaged to his long-time girlfriend Charlene Wittstock.

Wittstock, a 32-year-old former olympic swimmer from South Africa, met the prince in 2000 and has lived in Monaco since 2006.  The stunningly beautiful blonde already has onlookers drawing comparisons to Albert’s late mother, Princess Grace (film and fashion icon Grace Kelly).

“Diana: A Celebration” Graces Atlanta Sunday, May 23 2010

I finally got a chance to go see “Diana: A Celebration” yesterday at the Atlanta Civic Center.  There was a long line but it was so worth the wait.  My only complaint was that the fashion portion was too small.  I had hoped to see even more of her iconic wardrobe.

There was a large selection of artifacts from her childhood and home movies of a young Diana shot by her father.  Visitors get the feeling of being let into her childhood bedroom to see some of her favorite things.  From there you transition into her adult life filled with royalty and service.  But by far the most breathtaking moment was rounding a corner and being greeted by her full wedding regalia including shoes.  Exquisite!

The show runs almost daily and will be in Atlanta through June 13th.  Tickets are $19.50 for adults and you can also purchase the audio package for an additional $6.  Below are pictures of some the outfits that you’ll get to see.

Miss Zara Phillips

Zara Anne Elizabeth Phillips is the eldest granddaughter of Queen Elizabeth II and the daughter of HRH Anne, the Princess Royal and her first husband, Captain Mark Phillips.  Zara has an astounding five godparents: her uncle Prince Andrew, the Duke of York, Leonora Anson, the Countess of Lichfield, Lady Helen Stewart, Brigadier Andrew Parker Bowles and Hugh Thomas, Lord Thomas of Swynnerton.

An accomplished equestrian like her mother, 28 year old Zara is the reigning Eventing World Champion.  Her grandmother appointed her a Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) in 2007 for her services to equestrianism.  She is also known for her cutting edge fashion sense.  Zara recently married the two sides of her personality when she helped develop a line of equestrian attire for the clothing firm Musto.

Zara supports many charitable causes including her family’s long patronage of Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children.  In 2007 she became patron of the Mark Davies Injured Riders Fund.  To help with Sport Relief 2008, Zara posed for her first official royal portrait by artist Jack Vettriano.  In 2009, Zara attended a celebrity poker tournament in Monaco in aid of Darfur, Sudan.

Grace Kelly Exhibition Coming To London Sunday, Dec 27 2009

Princess Grace: Style Icon

The wardrobe of Princess Grace of Monaco will go on display at London’s Victoria & Albert museum next spring. On display will be dresses from many of her most famous films, including High Society and ‘Rear Window’, as well as outfits worn during her time as Princess of the small principality located on the French Riviera.

The exhibition, which will be sponsored by jewelers Van Cleef & Arpels, is appropriately being called ‘Grace Kelly: Style Icon’. It will be arranged into three sections, tracing her evolution from silver screen star to real-life princess. Archive film and video footage, film posters, family photographs, film clips and magazines will complete this close-up study of a woman who became a global fashion icon.

If you’re planning a trip to London between April 17th and September 26th you should make every effort to see this spectacular showing. Admission to the Victoria & Albert Museum is £6. You can book tickets in advance online at

Prince William To Be ‘Shadow King’ Sunday, Dec 13 2009

The Daily Mail is reporting that plans for 27 year old Prince William to take on a substantial portion of his grandmother’s public duties are at an advanced stage.

The Palace has denied previous reports that the 83 year old monarch was planning on scaling back, but the paper claims to have secured uncensored copies of official documents that prove otherwise.

Crillon Debutante Ball Tuesday, Dec 1 2009

The 19th Annual Crillon Ball took place in Paris on Saturday. Among the 25 debutantes at this year’s ball were Lady Kitty Spencer, the niece of the late Princess Diana; Autumn Whitaker, the daughter of Forest Whitaker; personal-style blogger Jane Aldridge (Sea of Shoes) and Francesca Eastwood, daughter of acting legend Clint Eastwood.

Founded by french public relations specialist Ophelia Renouard, the ball brings in the daughters of some of the most successful families from around the world. Proceeds from the invitation-only event, that presents young ladies to society, go to charity. Debutantes are swathed in couture and jewels.
